Riverside Café Waterfront Deck is a father and son, family-owned and operated business. The dream all started with Vasily “Bill” Christopoulos. Emigrating from Greece with his family in 1968, Bill dreamed of having his own restaurant business. Starting at 21 years of age as a busboy, he worked his way up to cook and learned the ins and outs of owning a restaurant. After several years of saving his earnings, getting married and having
three kids, Bill opened up his first business in Chicago.    In 1990, Bill and his son, Dean, moved to Bradenton, Florida and decided to find somewhere in the community where they could continue their dream of having a “Family and Friends” type business. 1994 rolled around and they were given that chance – The Riverside Café Waterfront Deck was born. Bill’s son, Dean, followed in his father’s footsteps, and learned the restaurant business from the ground up. Just like his father, to learn the workings of the restaurant business, Dean started as a busboy and worked his way up to being a co-owner of the Riverside Café Waterfront Deck. It is easy to see the camaraderie between owners and co-workers. “We take pride in the fact that we’re all one big family here – this is not just a restaurant. Tom and George, our Chefs’, have been with our family from the beginning and have over 65 years of collective experience. And our Assistant Chefs' Gregory and Rolando have 35 years collective experience. Their hearts and souls are put into our creations and all of our staff thrives on seeing our customers’ smiles,” says Dean. “We want to make you feel like you’re at home when you’re here.
